DKB: Tell us about yourself and a little about your family and educational background.

Eveste: I came from a family with a history in making clothes. My late grandmother was a seamstress and I grew up seeing my mother knitting in her spare times.

I've been sketching clothes since my lower grades and my parents and friends encouraged me to pursue a career in fashion design.

I acquired a diploma in Management Development and a diploma in Training and Development in 2014 at a Commercial college.

I worked as a flexi in clicks store 2015 and saved up for my studies to  pursue fashion design.

I finally got to study fashion design in 2016 at  Windhoek College Of The Arts, where I majored in fashion design and I graduated in 2019

DKB: What drives you every morning you wake up?

Eveste: How blessed I am  to wake up to another day the Lord has made for me.

DKB: What prompted you to venture into the fashion industry?

Eveste: What prompted me to venture into the fashion industry is the passion and the love I have for it.

DKB: How is the fashion industry generally in Namibia and what you think can be done to improve the industry?

Eveste: I believe the fashion industry is generally going well (independently), since most designers are coming up with creative ways of marketing their work.

However I do not think that the industry is flourishing because people do not support each other enough to build each other, but rather they buy clothes abroad instead of supporting local designers.

If local designers can be given opportunities to sell their products in big stores it would open up greater doors.

DKB: Who is/are your role model(s) and why do you look up to them?

Eveste : My role model is my mother, she went through a lot of challenges and she overcame.

DKB: What is/are your future plans for your business and what do you hope to accomplish with it?

Eveste : My future plans for  my business is to create employment opportunities in the country and outside and to venture to other regions of the world. I would like to inspire new young fashionists that they too can succeed in this industry.

DKB: What other areas of interest do you have?

Eveste: Other areas of interest I have is where I am able to express my self, more practical than sitting the whole day, Volunteering for good causes and helping others.

DKB: Tell us how being a member of DMK BUSINESS HUB AFRICA has impacted your life and Business?

Eveste: Being a member of Dmk Business Hub Africa has helped me to work harder. Reading other people 's stories, their struggles and how they over came gave me strength everyday to do better.

DKB: What other ambition do you have aside from Fashion?

Eveste: My other ambition is to have a non profit organization to help those who can not stand on their own/provide for themselves or family because of the lack of knowledge or education..... well, I can only say  that for now...

DKB : For those who are looking up to you and who aspire to venture into the fashion industry like yourself, what's your word of advice to them?

Eveste: My word of advice to those who aspire to venture into the fashion industry, is to know that the fashion industry is never easy and there will always be obstacles and if fashion is your real passion, keep on and never give up.

DKB: In your own words and terms, what does being successful mean to you?

Eveste: Being successful means reaching greater heights of what you enjoy doing. It's the inner peace feeling of accomplishment of your goal by doing what you do best and be happy at the same time.

DKB: It was nice chatting with you. Thank you for your time.
