 A SPECIAL INTERVIEW SESSION WITH NIGERIA'S TOURISM MAESTRO AND THE FAMOUS TV PRODUCER OF GOGE AFRICA

ISAAC MOSES 


Producer of the multiple-award-winning,famous culture and tourism  TV program: GOGE AFRICA. 



DKB: For the benefit of those who wish to know you better, give us a little background about who you are and what you do? 


Isaac Moses: I am the director of the Afro-centric culture and tourism brand on TV since 1999. I am a voice-over  artiste and a member of Association of voice over artistes of Nigeria AVOA. I am ,a tour broker, a destination promoter and a married man. I am from Anambra state but live in Lagos. Been a show biz personality for over 25 years. 



DKB: Kindly tell us a bit about your family and love life? 




Isaac Moses: I am from a modest family background, I have an elder sister and 5 younger siblings. The beautiful lady that co-presents Goge Africa with me happens to be my wife and the love of my life. Her name is Nneka Isaac-Moses and we share an exciting love life with no dull moments. We travel together  and work as partners, its like a fairy tale.



DKB: As a Maestro in your industry, how long have you been in it and what have you been able to accomplish so far?


Isaac Moses: Like I hinted earlier, I have been traveling around Africa and the diaspora with my wife for 20 years, presenting and documenting the African experience from different touristic locations around Africa. The most important accomplishments we have recorded is igniting an interest the tourism potentials around Africa. From South Africa to Egypt,Kenya,Ethiopia,Ghana,

Benin republic, Togo, Senegal and a lot more. More Nigerians request for tour package to experience some of the beautiful countries spotlighted on Goge Africa. We have created a global brand over time .





DKB: What is the motivation and driving force behind what you do? 


Isaac Moses: The driving force is the passion and excitement of my job. I have been hosted by communities,state governments and presidents, i see my business as having fun, traveling to different parts of the world most times with our son and sometimes getting paid to have fun. I am highly motivated. 




DKB: What challenges have you faced within these period and how have you been able to surmount them? 


Isaac Moses: we face challenges that most businesses face, the stigmatization we face as Nigerians when we travel, we have however slowly surmounted these challenges but the most daunting challenge is finance  to move production to the next level.




DKB: What is the relevance of Tourism in Nigeria and Africa as a whole? 


Isaac Moses: Tourism is one of the highest employers of labour and also generates forex into tourism successful countries like Morocco, Egypt, Kenya and stimulate investments in other sectors of African economy. Tourism is quite relevant when you look at the value chain it supports. 




DKB: Your TV program Goge Africa has been on air for over two decades. How have you been able to keep up with it when other similar programs have shutdown long time ago? 



Isaac Moses:Yes we have sustained Goge Africa through the grace of God and  always striving to make it better and coupled with the elements of curiosity that makes people stay glued to their TV wondering which country the team would be visiting on the next episode of the half-hour program plus advertising supports. 





DKB: For the younger generations who intend to venture into the tourism industry, what's your advice to them? 


Isaac Moses: let your passion drive you instead of monetary motivation. Be resilient in hard times as tourism is also resilient .




DKB : Aside Tourism, what other area(s) of interest do you have and what do you hope to accomplish in the nearest future? 



Isaac Moses: Aside Tourism i have interest in Learning to trade forex and develop domestic tourism. 



DKB : Having traveled far and wide, to several countries and regions, having interacted with various tribes and cultures, what's this one thing that resonates with all of them? 



Isaac Moses: The people of Africa love their culture and are proud  of it. When you travel,you get to understand how similar people are.





DKB: What are the opportunities that one can currently cash into in the Tourism industry especially in Africa? 



Isaac Moses: There are lots of opportunities in Africa in form of the untapped resources that abound in Africa. We are currently driving domestic tourism with sterling Bank steering it with a seed fund of 5billion naira,union Bank, 10billion naira and lagos state,also supporting with 2billion naira. Africa's  domestic tourism potentials are humongous. Opportunities abound in our domestic tourism for investment.
